The tumbak is basically an Indian version of the Dumbek. The
tumbak is not very common in most of India, but it is found in the
folk music of Kashmir. It is interesting to note that drums of this
type are also known as klong yao or glong (Thailand & Laos). There
is a certain similarity in form to the gummeta of Andhra Pradesh. |
